Robert Bruce Allen
Robert Bruce Allen, 94, passed away at IU Ball Memorial Hospital on December 13, 2017. He was born in September 21, 1923 in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late Charles Merrill and Gladys Mae (Siefers) Allen.
Robert proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army in the 782nd Tank Battalion during WWII. He worked faithfully for Delco Remy for 34 years. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He loved his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Martha Anna (Finley) Allen, whom he married January 24, 1947; a son Mark S. Allen (Connie) of Muncie; a daughter Carol J. Sells (James) of Selma; four grandchildren; Michael Allen Sells (Ashley) of Selma, Mitchell Aaron Sells of Selma, Cody M. Allen (Kylie) of Muncie and Morgan J. Allen of Muncie; two great-grandchildren, Beau M. and Kadie-Lynn Sells both of Selma; and a sister, Julia Ann Allen of Speedway. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers George W. and Charles M. “Cocky” Allen.
Funeral services for Robert will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Glenn Greiner officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, with military honors being conducted by the United States Army and Delaware County Honor Guard. Calling will be Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
