Obituary for Doris Loraine Wages (Hough)

Doris Loraine Wages, 89 of Muncie, died Wednesday morning, January 10, 2018 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born November 27, 1928 on a farm near Progress and was the daughter of the late Joseph Ralph & Gladys Evelyn (McCoy) Hough.
Doris graduated in 1946 from Daleville High School. In 1950 she married the love of her life Guy Wages; they celebrated their 50th anniversary on February 11, 2000. She retired from Sears after 38 years of dedicated service, where she worked in Muncie, Anderson, Greenwood and Ft. Myers, FL. Doris previously worked at Ball Brothers in the office, Ball State Athletic Office and Ayers. She and Guy wintered in Ft. Myers for many years. Doris was a member of Forest park Church of the Nazarene and was previously a 50 year member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed reading books and exchanged them with friends. Doris played Euchre at Forest Park and Ross Center Senior Citizen Clubs. She was a member of Perry WCTU and in earlier years helped in church programs.
Doris is survived by her three children, Kathy Wages (Jeff Wright) of Muncie, Brian Wages of Muncie, and Danny Wages (Mary) of Orlando, FL; three grandchildren John Wages (April) of Florida, Sarah Dozier of Kokomo and Amy Ely (Adam) of Noblesville; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters Carolyn Walker of Middletown and Joyce Stephen of Muncie; two special close and dear friends Kay Morris and Mary Campbell; seventy-two nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Guy Wages, two brothers and a sister.
Funeral Services for Doris will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor David Delk officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon, Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Forest Park Church of the Nazarene, 2417 West 8th Street, Muncie, IN 47302, envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
