William Marvin Wade
William Marvin Wade, 85, of Muncie, died early Sunday morning, August 4th, 2013 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born March 21st, 1928 in Sunnybrook, Kentucky and was the son of the late Ira Carter & Polly (Hancock) Wade.
William loved to garden, and give his produce away to his family, friends, and neighbors. He loved to take his family to his favorite restaurant “Crackle Barrel”. William also enjoyed fishing. He proudly and honorably served his country during the Korea Conflict in the United States Army. William was a member of Legion Post #0777. William retired in 1989 from Indiana Glass after 23 years of service.
William is survived by four sons, William Wade (Brenda) of Indianapolis, Phillip Wade of Indianapolis, Timothy Wade of Muncie, and Craig Wade of Indianapolis; three daughters Joni Roysden of Muncie, Sandra Wade of Muncie, and Tammy Wade of Elkhart; three step-sons, Robert Coleman (Diane) of Muncie, Richard Coleman (Connie) of Muncie, and Bruce Coleman of Muncie; thirteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren; a brother Walter Dean Wade (Marilyn) of Alexandria; special nephew Larry McKeighen, special neighbors and friends Joe & Sue Parokas; several nieces and nephews also survive . In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary (Burke) Wade; six brothers and a sister.
Funeral Services for William will be held Thursday, August 8th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Dennis Trimble officiating. Burial will follow with military honors being conducted by the United States Army and the Delaware County Honor Guard in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call Wednesday, August 7th, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
