Lula Mae Sciscoe (Lee)
Lula Mae (Lee) Sciscoe, 96, of rural Albany, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at her home.
Lula was born December 10, 1919 in Boyle, Mississippi to the late Steven and Lottie (Hood) Lee. She graduated from LeFlore County Nursing School in 1944. Lula married her late husband Thomas W. Sciscoe on July 10, 1944 and was married 62 years before his death in 2007. She worked as a nurse for Ball Memorial Hospital for 24 years before her retirement in 1980. Lula was a member of Shawnee Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and baking and loved dogs and other animals. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Lula is survived by three children, Leah Janice Davis (husband Jim), Thomas Sciscoe (wife Lynn), and Gaye Ellen Duncan (husband Bo), all of Albany; 17 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Lula was preceded in death by her step-mother, Florence A. Lee; and four brothers, Richard, Douglas, William, and Edgar Lee.
A funeral service to celebrate Lula’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3 in Muncie. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday June 10, 2016, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Garden View Funeral Home.
