Robert E. Walker
Robert E. Walker, 89, of Muncie died Sunday evening, July 10th, 2016 at his residence. He was born May 14th, 1927 in Danville, IL and was the son of the late Charles Russell & Hazel M. (Watson) Walker.
Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed fishing, going to the lakes, yard work, being outside and just being with his family. Robert proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #33, Eagles Lodge #231, UAW Local #499, and the Avondale Sympathy Club. Robert retired from New Venture Gear as a tool-die maker. He was an avid Cub’s Fan.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Jean L. (Karsnak) Walker of Muncie; a son Randy E. Walker (Pamela) of Fishers; a daughter Tina J. Reynolds (Forrest) of Albany; three granddaughters Amber Fahy (Chris) of Fishers, Heather Hamilton (Tony) of Fishers, and Rhea Doughty (John) of Muncie; two great-granddaughters Ella Fahy and McKenzie Hamilton both of Fishers; a brother Don Walker of Muncie; a sister Ruth Long of FL; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers William and Russell Walker, two sisters Jacqueline Reading and Francis Gignac.
Funeral Services for Robert will be held Thursday, July 14th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will follow with military honors being conducted by the United States Army and the Delaware County Honor Guard in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call Wednesday, July 13th, 2016 from 3-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 12- 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
