Obituary for Mary Lynn Hertzog (Guess)

Mary Lynn  Hertzog (Guess)
Mary Lynn Hertzog, 71 of Muncie, died early Monday morning, September 5th, 2016 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Muncie. She was born November 2nd, 1944 in Cowan, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Nathan & Mary (Simmons) Guess.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She greatly loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was an avid bowler; she worked for Muncie Lanes for 25 years and for Parkview Healthcare for 27 years. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and gardening. Mary loved playing with her beloved dog “Oona”.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Joanna L. Hertzog (Rick) and Jeanine C. Fernatt (Scott) both of Muncie; four grandchildren Amber Miller (Del), Brandie Gentry (Travis), Shelby Grove, and Tommy Langham III; a great-grandson Hunter James Hannah; a sister Callie Clark (Eugene) of Muncie; three brothers Bobby Guess (Marylue) of Muncie, George Guess (Marie) and John Guess (Margie) both of Cowan, TN. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James M. Hertzog, a granddaughter Mariah Lynn Grove, two sisters Janie Lee Moreland and Pearl Long, and two brothers William and Jack Guess.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 10th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to AMG Specialty Hospital and to her nurse Christina for the care and compassion showed to Mary.
