Sandra Kay Hedge (Berry)
Sandra Kay Hedge, 66 of Eaton, died Tuesday evening, August 15, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born January 2, 1951 in Muncie and is the daughter of Robert Berry and the late Gloria (McCormack) Berry.
Sandra was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sandra enjoyed reading, crocheting, fishing, and going to the lakes. She retired from American Health Network after 13 years as a telephone operator. Sandra served as a switchboard operator for 20 years with Ball Memorial Hospital and had been previously employed with Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 48 years Larry Edward Hedge of Eaton; her father Robert Berry of Hartford City; three daughters Sherry Chalfant (Dan) of Muncie, Amy Wheat (Chris) of Eaton, and Julia Weatherly (Jay) of Farmland; eight grandchildren, Erika, Macy, Caleb, Ryan, Jacquelyn, Lucas, Jacy, and Carson ; a great-grandchild Karter; two brothers Daniel Berry (Beverly) of Eaton and Samuel Berry (Nancy) of Hartford City; a sister Sally Childs (Tim) of Indianapolis. In addition to her mother Gloria (McCormack) Berry death in 2012, she was preceded in death by a grandson Taylor Chalfant in 1993 and a sister Connie Barnett in 2003.
Funeral Services for Sandra will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 at the funeral home. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Dr.’s Karen Miller, Patrick Cleary, and Luke Ernstberger for their care and compassion provided to Sandra.
