Hubert Eldon Marvell
Hubert Eldon Marvell, 71, of Muncie, died Friday evening, January 17th, 2014 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born September 5th, 1942 in Anderson, IN, and was the son of the late Eldon & Velma Lillian (Michael) Marvell-Turner.
Hubert retired as a phase assembler from Westinghouse, and was currently employed as a Corrections Officer with the Indiana Department of Corrections in Pendleton. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Muncie Pistol Club, Muncie Amateur Radio Club, and the Gaston United Methodist Church. Hubert enjoyed puttering in his garage, working on projects, and enjoyed working on computers. Hubert loved his family and especially spending time with his grandsons.
Hubert is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Dorothy Louise (Kibbey) Marvell, whom he married December 19th, 1971 in Gaston; his two daughters, Michelle Noelle Adams (Jason) of Muncie, and Melissa Nicole Rielly (Peter) of Cambridge, England; his two grandsons Seth Robert & Trey Bradford Adams of Muncie; his seven siblings James Marvell of Anderson, Aloma Sue Smith (Floyd, Jr.) of Brownsburg, IN, Michael Marvell (Nancy) of Rockford, IL, Robert Marvell (Sheila) of Daleville, Paul Marvell of Anderson, Chester Turner, Jr. of Daleville, and Jennifer Rinker (Kendel) of Anderson; his step-father Chester Turner, Sr. of Daleville; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Hubert will be held Wednesday, January 22nd, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Collins Glenn officiating. Military Honors will be conducted at the funeral home, by the United States Army, and the Delaware County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Wednesday from 12-1. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Gaston Volunteer Fire Department or to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund) with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
