One of the funniest experiences we ever had involved Bert (Hubert) at the Anderson (IN) Speedway. Dorothy, Bert, Kay and I went there occasionally (years ago) to watch stock car races particularly "figure eight" races. On one occasion, we were sitting a few rows up from the fence when a rather violent accident happened right in front of us. Bert wasn't paying particularly close attention to the track at that moment and the noise scared him so much that he went air-born and landed one row up. Fortunately no one was sitting there! We laughed until we cried. Dorothy told the people behind us, "You can dress him us, but you can't take him out." That was one of many fun times with Bert. His departure will leave a void than only fond memories can try to fill. Dick K.
